Prerequisites and campaign setup
Install, verify and enable the Marketing addon. Open Business → Promotions in the newer source or Business → Marketing in earlier licensed releases, with marketing.manage; protected campaign changes require current password confirmation. Configure only real campaign content, eligible products/domain offers, business/storefront, dates, countries, currencies and permitted total/per-customer use. Codes are case-normalised and unique. Installing the core or leaving campaign tables empty does not activate discounts.
Price behavior
The strongest eligible incentive is selected per item. Fixed coupons are distributed using exact arithmetic. The server quote records original renewal amounts, initial discounts and campaign fingerprints; checkout locks and reserves eligibility inside the order transaction. A changed rule or exceeded usage cap rejects an old quote. Guest advertising does not prove a signed-in customer qualifies as new.
Invoice lines retain their full amounts and the invoice discount stores the initial incentive. Service recurring prices remain gross; campaigns are not applied by RenewalService. Show the full renewal price alongside an initial free/discounted domain or hosting term.
Domain bundle rules
A bundle cannot shorten the purchased domain term or invent a missing one-year registry price. It uses a supported eligible-year catalogue quote, explicitly permitted proration or withholds the offer. Credit cannot exceed the domain's original eligible recurring initial amount; setup fees stay separate. Registrar term, eligibility, availability and payment controls still apply.
Banners and offer pages
Saved banner slots use plain escaped text and scoped eligibility. A campaign with landing copy receives /offers/{public_id}; disabled, expired, future, exhausted or out-of-scope pages return 404. Calls to action accept local paths or HTTPS. Reading the landing page does not reserve usage or place an order.
Verify and retire
Test eligible/ineligible users, first versus repeat orders, currency/brand changes, simultaneous last-use attempts and the saved recurring amount. Disable obsolete campaigns rather than deleting committed redemption history. The module's workspace/status actions do not send campaigns, marketing email or paid advertising.
