Registry and defaults

Open System → Currency with settings.manage. Add/edit an allowed currency code, name and symbol and enable the currencies actually offered. The system default is a fallback; brands/storefronts can restrict the central list and choose their own default. The conversion base is a separate reference unit. Money uses integer minor units with two decimal places; a display symbol does not change an accounting currency code.

Before disabling a currency, remove active references from business/storefront settings, services and catalogue/payment configuration. Keep the default/base enabled. Historical invoices and payments retain their original identity and amounts.

Enter rates

Rates are operator-entered, positive values with at most six decimal places. A target rate expresses one base unit in that currency. With USD as base and a PKR rate of 280, USD 10.00 becomes PKR 2,800.00 before rounding. The engine uses exact integer ratios and can convert in reverse through the same base. It does not fetch market rates or schedule automatic rate updates.

Choose whether domains share product/service conversion or use separate domain rates and rounding. Missing required rates make converted prices unavailable. Changing the base atomically rebases saved ratios and requires a valid new-base rate in each relevant context. A form opened under an old base is rejected after a concurrent base change.

Rounding

Strategies are nearest/half-up, nearest/half-even, always up and always down. Increments are 0.01, 0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, 5.00 or 10.00 target units. Preview the source amount/currency, target and pricing context using the saved policy. An enabled direct catalogue price wins over conversion; an explicitly disabled price is not bypassed.

Historical and module boundary

Conversion snapshots keep source/target amount, base, exact rate and rounding. Checkout revalidates the quote. Existing services, issued invoices, payments and credit are not repriced by a rate edit. Currency addon actions are workspace, status, preview, save_currency, save_rate and save_policy; they delegate to the same validated core workspace. Disabling the addon disables those entry points while permitted core reads and history remain available.
